Cedar Lakes Estate has a rich and interesting history. It was started in the 1920s as a summer camp for inner-city children. Every year hundreds of kids came from New York City to Camp Minisink for a summer of fun in the bucolic surroundings of the property. It was such a fond experience for those who attended the camp that each year we host a reunion for several hundred Camp Minisink alumni. It is always among the most festive events of the year.
When the current owners purchased the property in the early 1990s they began upgrading the facilities and transformed it into a premier athletic training facility. Team USA Sports Camp operated for many years and served as a training site for elite athletes including several Olympic gold medalists and World Cup soccer players. Team USA Sports Camp still operates today during select weeks throughout the year as a training camp for school athletic teams.
As the owners further developed the lakefront area of the 500-acre property, it became more of a multi-use campus than a summer camp. The upgraded facilities led the transformation of Cedar Lakes into a full-service event rental facility. Now with modern meeting rooms, extensive athletic facilities, team-building programs, and luxury accommodations, Cedar Lakes Estate is enjoyed by groups of all ages and interests.
